The Heart of the Kitchen

For me, peace isn’t found in silence; it is found in the rhythmic chop of a knife, the warmth of a preheating oven, and the quiet, curated inspiration found while wandering the aisles of Williams Sonoma.

Kitchen to Peace was born in those exact moments—when the outside world feels a bit too loud, and the kitchen becomes my sanctuary. When I am baking, grocery shopping, or discovering the perfect new copper pot, the noise in my head finally fades, and I return to my calm.

A Community for the Quiet Moments

This space was never intended to be just about my journey. I wanted to build a haven for those who also find their “zen” through the art of cooking and the beauty of a well-lived home. Whether you are a seasoned chef, a weekend baker, or someone who simply finds joy in the aesthetic of a classic kitchen, you belong here.

I am a firm believer that we all need a place to reconnect, and I am honored to share my sense of peace with the people who need it most.

These Carrot Cake Cupcakes are bound to be a hit among the crowd. While baking, it's important to keep a close eye on them as every oven differs. In my experience, my oven runs very hot, which resulted in cupcakes that were slightly burnt. However, they still tasted great after being slathered with cream cheese frosting. Even though I had to pull away some of the edges, no one seemed to notice. These cupcakes can also be turned into a two-tier cake and are a crowd favorite either way they are made. Fall is my favorite season I love everything about it. I love the foliage, pumpkin picking, cozy food, the chill in the air, mulled wine, apple cider, pumpkin pie, a spicey candle – the list goes on. Recently I found out about a place called Gasko's Family Farm and I don't know where I have been for the last 20 years. Actually, I do. I was paying such a high price for pumpkins from my local fall attractions. I will never buy a pumpkin outside of Gasko’s ever again. They have every shape, size, type, and color of pumpkin that you can think of and the best part is the price – it’s so good you'll be questioning if they marked it right. If you want to have treats, drinks, and hay rides, you will have to make a stop at one of the farms that are known for these things (Delicious Orchard or Casola) but if you’re buying pumpkins – you’re making a huge mistake if you go anywhere other than Gasko’s.

It’s Pot Roast Season!!! Are you looking for a cozy meal beyond all others? This is it!!! I roughly followed Ina Garten's recipe for Company Pot Roast. See the ingredients that I used below! LINK TO STAUB DUTCH OVEN: https://amzn.to/3RY6mlh 1 piece of beef chuck, 3 pounds 6 onions halved then quartered into wedges 4 stalks of celery peeled and sliced diagonally 4 large carrots peeled and sliced diagonally 2 sprigs Rosemary 4 sprigs thyme 2 cups red wine (Bordeaux) 1 cup beef stock 1 small can of whole tomatoes (Ina used plum, I had cherry) Olive Oil Salt Pepper Ina’s recipe included leeks, garlic, cognac, flour, a bouillon cube, and butter. I’m sure that would have been delicious, but I did not add those things and mine was JUST AS delicious. I loved her idea of blending half the vegetables and broth to thicken the sauce. My sauce was perfect once I did this process and I did not need to do anything else to thicken it.

I had an easy dinner... leftovers. I was craving something special for dessert. I had whole milk in my fridge that was going to expire so I knew the recipe needed to include milk. Rice pudding came to mind, it was easy and just a few ingredients. I followed Ina Garten's recipe for Rum Raisin Rice Pudding. I didn't feel like raisins but I did include the rum. The hardest part of this recipe is stirring. Enjoyed watching my current favorite show!

This is a quick weeknight meal with very easy cleanup. Stop at the fish store on the way home and build your foil packets with flavors you already have at home. This time I used leftover Jersey tomatoes, olives, capers and fresh parsley. You can change this up by layering in some slices of lemon and butter, or even make this Asian style with cilantro, bok choy and soy sauce.
